Habitat for Humanity is an organization that reflects the values of the Columbia-Greene Board of REALTORS® , with its commitment to building affordable, safe housing for lower and moderate income families, with the help of volunteer builders.
We hope you will sign up to volunteer for an upcoming CGBR home-build day. We are awaiting a schedule of home-build dates and when our day arrives we’d like to have our volunteer REALTORS® and affiliates signed up and ready to go.
Take a moment to answer this one-second poll, so we know if this work interests you and how many of you to plan for. You don’t need experience to help build or renovate a house, and kind supervision is available for those new to the work of home-building.
Since 1993, Columbia Habitat For Humanity has built 18 homes for families in our region and returned $2 million of developed property to tax rolls. The organization has purchased more than $1.5 million in local goods and services, and Habitat’s ReStore location in Hudson generates about $50,000 in annual proceeds to support construction programs in. Habitat counts more than 9,000 volunteer hours per year on its construction sites and at the ReStore location, which draws 10,000 shoppers annually.
